Our mission is simple: to provide the best Absinthe related products and service to our customers at the lowest prices possible. We take great pride in our company, our commitment to customer service and in the products we sell. Our online store is designed to provide you with a safe and secure environment to browse our product catalog.

We have been providing Absinthe essences and accessories to the absinthe savvy public since 2003. Now, after 95 years of prohibition, absinthe is becoming legal and Absinthe America will continue to provide the highest quality products to customers. It isn't about getting rich. If that was the case, we wouldn't have selected such a niche product or demographics. It is about bringing knowledge and products that we believe in to like minded partakers.

We only offer our products via internet and an occasional convention (when our schedules permit). All of our products are 100% guaranteed to be what we claim or the expense is on us.

We much apologize for our brief absence as we are undergoing a site redesign and many of the features of the past site features have not been implemented yet. That is being addressed. Currently, we are running on bare minimum of features to quickly get the site operational and offer our quality products to you quicker.

Many thanks for your patronage, trust and support.

1. Absinthe is not a drug and will not make you hallucinate, high or go crazy. It is an alcoholic beverage of high proof, so exercise must be taken as one would with any other alcoholic beverage. Absinthe DOES contain thujone from the Wormwood plant that can cause convulsions.

2. Fire has no part in the absinthe ritual. Lighting absinthe on fire is a modern marketing ploy used only to sell foul tasting ?absinth.? The taste of absinthe with a burned sugar cube is different than the traditional however is NOT the traditional way. It is merely a twist created by the neo-Gothic community. Fun, tasty, visual but not authentic.

3. Real absinthe is not overly bitter yes there may be some underlying bitter-sweet aftertaste. It is, however, smooth, refreshing and an acquired taste.

4. Much of the so-called absinthe produced in the Czech Republic and Germany is not real absinthe and should be avoided. If any absinthe boasts high alcohol content, many times it is overcompensation for the lack of quality.

5. It was thought that the best absinthe comes from France, Switzerland and Spain, but others are beginning to surface. With that, one must be more careful to not be duped by the imitators.

6. There was no valid scientific reason why Absinthe was banned in the USA. Mostly political between the wine industry (losing money yet very strong politically and financially) and the absinthe manufacturers (cutting into the wine industry's profits)

7. You can not make absinthe from an extract kit or by merely soaking herbs in spirits. Do not waste your money on products or kits that make this claim. IT HAS TO BE DISTILLED IF DRY HERBS ARE BEING USED! IT CAN be made from a quality essence where all the combining and distilling has already occured.

8. Absinthe is not all about wormwood or thujone. Wormwood is just one of the principle ingredients. It is about the perfect balance of a potable, thujone, taste, smoothness, color, proof etc. If it's ONLY thujone you're after, eat some sage. There is a higher concentration of thujone in common sage than in grand wormwood.

9. Absinthe was invented by a doctor and Absinthe contains many herbs that have long been renowned for their homeopathic qualities. It was supplied as a tonic for the French army.

10. Absinthe is delicious and best enjoyed, like all other alcoholic beverages, in moderation.
